After 3 years of pandemic, there is no time to lose. Children MUST go to school, since in the last 4 years they have had 97 weeks of missed classes, we are talking about 24 months that correspond to two and a half years of schooling. Although the government is working on an Educational Reactivation Plan, if children and young people do not go to school, the plan will have no impact. Evidence shows us that students with chronic absenteeism, that is, those who miss more than one month of classes per year, tend to have higher probabilities in the future of having worse salaries, longer periods of unemployment, more job instability and even more probabilities of falling into delinquency than those students who have regular attendance, and as we all know, students with chronic absenteeism can also double or even triple the probabilities of dropping out, that is, of abandoning school and leaving the system. This is why we call on families to NOT waste time, to commit from day one with attendance. March is a month where we have to take advantage of sending our children to school: the weather is good, there is enthusiasm and we are rested. So, the invitation is that we play all the cards at the beginning of the year, because every day counts for the future of our young people.
